Hello, my name is Naicelis Salas, and I am campaigning for my father Javier Salas. I will tell you a little about his life, when he was 10 years old he was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. Those were difficult years, but that motivated him to study internal medicine. Known among his fellow students as Dr. Azuquita. He also studied a specialty in Diabetes Mellitus to improve his health and help others. Writing his first book at age 18.

University Professor

He has been a university professor for more than 20 years, recognized as an excellent teacher by students and colleagues, when he was preparing classes he always told me: "Good classes make good professionals".  He is also a thesis tutor.

Interested in teaching patients

His priority was always been to create awareness in people, about the prevention of the disease and its complications. For this, he made free conferences for patients with  prizes, where he explained the importance of good nutrition and exercise in diabetic people. He always repeated: "Education is the basis of good health."

Dedication to your patients

He has always had dedication when treating his patients, especially the complication of diabetic foot infection. Many times when the prognosis was amputation my dad said: “Saving a diabetic foot is giving quality of life to the patient”, and performed treatments to achieve this.

Terrible news

In May 2019, he felt a discomfort in his scalp and after a biopsy we learned the diagnosis: Cancer (Malignant Melanoma of the Scalp). In July 2019, the first surgery to remove the melanoma and reconstruction of the scalp was performed. Two months later, the headaches and neck pain began. The second surgery was performed with a second diagnosis: Metastasis in the cervical nodes, ending the surgery with lymph node emptying.

Today my dad needs immunotherapy treatment with Nivolumab, to win the battle against cancer, as well as medications for           (feeling tired, rash, muscle, bone and joint pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, weakness, cough, shortness of breath, constipation, decreased appetite, back pain, upper respiratory tract infection, fever, headache, abdominal pain).

Necessary Treatment

Aragua-Venezuela State College of Doctors requests help

We also need the necessary supplies for the application of immunotherapy, it is a                      treatment that also is not in your country of residence Venezuela. For this reason, the Aragua-Venezuela State College of Doctors are making a requesting for help from any entity that could provide it.

A Hope

As the eldest daughter, on behalf of my brothers and relatives I'm carrying out this campaign to beg any help you could give to cover the costs of treatment and beat this cancer.

My dad still has a lot he can teach his students, many patients he can help and much more he can do to serve the community. I believe in a powerful God, I believe in the existence of miracles and I also believe in the goodness of the people who are reading this campaign. Through you God can perform this miracle. Please help us and give my dad the opportunity to continue living.
